OUR STORY

MINIMALIST ROOTS

One day I was listening to a podcast on minimalism. It was a concept that was foreign to me. I was intrigued by it, so I kept listening. My first thought was there was no way I was getting rid of everything I worked hard for. Oh no!

I eventually got over it and slowly started getting rid of things. It was nice, it was freeing. Not at all what I expected.

A year into it I noticed that I had made very little progress on my closet. After reading a book on minimalistic living I decided enough was enough! I was going to get rid of most of my wardrobe!

Just like the book suggested—I sold, donated, and threw away things. At the end I thought…great, now what am I supposed to wear?! Lol.  I quickly realized the need for well made, meaningful clothing.

Finding something to wear should not be overwhelming. Late July was created to give meaning to your wardrobe and your life.

MOM + KIDS BUSINESS

When I started Late July  I involved my children in the process. They now help out with much of what goes into creating a finished product. Often times they are the models who graciously work for "free". Lol. Their creative ideas and input is the inspo behind many of the designs that you see.

The process of working with them can be trying, fun, but also a way for me to connect to and better understand them. For them, I am very appreciative. Most importantly, the kids have been the driving force that keeps me going when I have been frustrated, made mistakes, or even felt like giving up. Late July is a Mom + Kids small business and we thank you for your support and purchases. It means the world to us.
